Your nurses and carers are there to help you, but they are often very busy. The good news is that with a little communication, you can work together to keep your hair looking lovely between salon visits.
Tips for Residents:
- Pick the Right Time: Ask for help with brushing when you are already sitting up for breakfast or watching TV, rather than when you are tired and ready for bed.
- Keep Your Tools Ready: Keep your comb, brush, or favourite hair clip in the top drawer of your bedside table. If it’s easy for the nurse to find, they are more likely to have time to help you.
- Speak Up: If your scalp is itchy or sore, tell them immediately!
When you need more than a brush:
Sometimes you need a proper wash, cut, and blow-dry to feel like yourself again.
